Pending Arrival Announced in Ketchikan...

From our son Bill Albrant's website: "The most major of all topics to highlight is that Bailey is expecting a baby sister this mid May. While more difficult this time deciding on a name, we have finally decided on one. Keeping with choosing names after Bays in Alaska and ironically with all our names starting with “B”, we decided on naming the new little girl Bristol. I think it is a relief to both of us that we have finally settled on a name because for awhile we were calling her Bailey #2. Moreover, her middle name only took half a day to decide upon as we chose Dawn…Bristol Dawn Albrant".

Our Road Trip to Anza-Borrego, CA...

"Elmers"...

"Elmer" is a ham radio term for people who help others become "hams" with their knowledge and experience. Here are some of the "Elmers" in my life:

W7FXZ (sk) - "Charlie". A janitor by trade, he educated dozens of high school kids on ham radio, including me.

W7ULC (sk) - Jerry worked  more DX with "finesee" than he did with high power.

N6AW - Jan is the ultimate contester and antenna guru. An inspiration on what can be done.

W7AZK (sk) - Gave me my first transmitter -- an ARC-5 -- and was my first qso. A lesson on giving to others was learned.

Wally & Marcy - The nicest people I've ever worked for. They showed me I wasn't too old to learn new tricks.

Pictured above, Robbin, Flo and Patti were part of a two-car caravan that did a 1-day road trip to beautiful Anza-Borrego in southern California. Also on the trip were our daughters Carrie Ann (with husband Kelly and daughter Chloe), and Carrie Renee. Spring is the perfect time to visit the desert!
