W6BA Antenna Project...

During the 1980-90's, W6BA was the very successful multi-op contest station of Bill Adams. Located in 29 Palms, in the high desert, the 40-acre spread was ideal for antennas, with a long, sloping take-off to Japan and Europe. Antennas included a 1250' rhombic aimed at Europe. During this time antennas and towers were continously upgraded. Bill is now a Silent Key.

The completed tower installation. This 120' tower was one of several towers we put up at W6BA's contest location. That small white dot near the base of the tower is me.

Taking a break, this group spent several weekends putting up the big tower. Eventually, the 3el 40m beam was up!
