National NC-183 Receiver
November, 2005 - Another eBay purchase, I got this one for $112.
Symptoms:
- Radio does not work
- Cabinet in poor shape with scratches and rust
- Speaker in poor shape with large areas missing
- Dials and dial glass in poor condition (cracked glass)
Mechanical Repair:
- Removed radio and speaker from cabinets
- Cleaned and sanded all cabinet surfaces
- Cleaned chassis; coated rust areas with Rustoleum
- Replaced speaker with new 10” speaker
- Replaced speaker grill clothReplaced dial and dial glass with NC-183D model parts
- Re-painted radio and speaker cabinets correct color
- Re-lettered front panel with lacquer stick
Electrical Repair
- Replaced filter capacitors with 22uf 450v
- Replaced 2 missing and/or bad tubes
- Replaced power cord
- Replaced speaker cord
- Replaced dial lights
This radio was sold on eBay for $275. |
