Before and After...

Above, this is a Grunow model 588, Teledial. This one was not in terrible shape, but it doesn't work and the cabinet has a few problems.

In fair condition, these will sell for $150-$175, and much more if they've been restored.

Symptoms:      

• Radio is complete, but doesn’t work
• Top badly scratched
• Speaker grill cloth damaged
• Speaker cone damaged         

Mechanical Repair:

• Cleaned entire cabinet; coated with Old English
• Repainted wood trim (black, as original)
• Brushed clean chassis
• Replaced speaker grill cloth
• Installed felt pads on front knobs
• Cleaned & lubricated tuning capacitor 

Electrical Repair:

• Replaced bad 6C6 tube
• Installed replacement antenna on back of set
• Repaired speaker cone 

Notes:

• Bought on eBay for $24.00
• Must use external antenna (supplied) for this radio to operate properly
• Brass dial parts still need cleaning/restoring
