Bought this nice little radio on eBay.
Symptoms:
- Radio lights up but has loud hum
- Cabinet is fair with scratches
- Volume control stiff
- Power cord in poor condition
Mechanical Repair:
- Cleaned all cabinet and chassis surfaces
- Cleaned all switches and knobs
- Sprayed contacts/switches with clean & lube
- Coated cabinet with Old English
Electrical Repair:
- Replaced power supply filter capacitors
- Dial lights bad; replaced
- Replaced weak rectifier tube
